Man Utd arrange mid-season training camp in the Republic of Ireland

Manchester United have arranged a mid-season training camp in April to help Michael Carrick’s side prepare for their first match in over three weeks.

With Manchester United drawing 2-2 against Bournemouth last Friday, Michael Carrick’s side must wait patiently to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Due to the March international break and United’s failure to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals, after losing to Brighton in the third round, United have a 24-day gap between the last game and their next fixture.

This was the reason United considered mid-season friendlies to break up the campaign, especially the long breaks, but on Tuesday it emerged the Red Devils were looking at a training camp away from Carrington.

Man Utd coming to the Republic of Ireland for four-day training camp

United’s main objective is to ensure that Carrick has the best environment to work in for the remainder of the season.

With such a long break from fixtures, it may prove to be a challenge for Carrick to retain momentum.

According to Andy Mitten of The Athletic, United will travel to the Republic of Ireland for a four-day training camp at the start of April.

When did Man Utd last travel to the Republic of Ireland?

United last travelled to Ireland in August 2023.

It was for a pre-season friendly against Athletic Bilbao at a sold-out Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Facundo Pellistri scored the only goal for United as the game ended 1-1.

United fans, many of whom live in Ireland, were critical of the ticket prices for the pre-season friendly after Erik ten Hag brought a weakened squad to the Irish capital.

The reason for the weakened team at the time was that United arranged another pre-season friendly at Old Trafford the following day.
