Exclusive: Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United keen on same Bundesliga player – He fancies PL move

Castello Lukeba

Castello Lukeba

Castello Lukeba has been one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga this season. There are now increasing indications that he could move to Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester United in the summer.

Earlier this month,Sport Witness covered claims from France about the Gunners’ making a scouting trip for the 23-year-old.

Arsenal kept a close eye on him during a game against Borussia Dortmund, having gathered positive reports about his performances across the campaign.

It was believed that this could convince the London side into making a formal approach, with initial discussions having taken place already.

Now, Sport Witness have been informed about the defender’s situation.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool competing

Sources have confirmed to Sport Witness that as well as the Gunners, Manchester United and Liverpool are also very much in the race for Castello Lukeba.

Sport Witness have also been informed the RB Leipzig player would be interested in a Premier League switch. However, everything can hinge on the sort of projects those three clubs offer in the summer.

The player is very much focused on picking the club which offers him the best possibility of development. That is playing on his mind and this thought-process will dictate the club that he ends up joining next.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool should be able to afford Lukeba from a financial perspective. Everything would therefore come down to their sporting plans for the Frenchman.

Liverpool may suit Castello Lukeba most

As of now, Arsenal and Manchester United may not need defensive signings. The Red Devils are likely to tie Harry Maguire down to a renewal. They already have Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs De Ligt, Ayden Heaven, Leny Yoro and even Luke Shaw as centre-back options.

Similar applies to Arsenal, especially since they signed Piero Hincapie and Cristhian Mosquera in the summer. The Ecuadorian has played at left-back but is very capable of playing centrally.

Liverpool are facing the prospect of losing Ibrahima Konate in the summer. Giovanni Leoni remains sidelined with injury and at 19-years-of-age is still developing.

Since Joe Gomez has only played as a back-up across the backline, they may need a new centre-back.

Castello Lukeba is a proven entity. His ability on the ball and age makes him quite a reliable fit for the Reds. Liverpool have a track record of signing players from the Bundesliga and there interest is genuine.

Manchester United or Arsenal could need an exit or two to turn their interest into a concrete transfer attempt.
