‘Synchronisation’: Bruno Fernandes is in same bracket as three Man Utd teammates under Michael Carrick, says Dimitar Berbatov

Dimitar Berbatov placed an important focus on the role of Bruno Fernandes and compared him with three other Manchester United players under Michael Carrick.

Bruno Fernandes has enjoyed a stunning run of form since January after Michael Carrick replaced Ruben Amorim in the Old Trafford dugout for the short term.

Carrick has deployed the 31-year-old Manchester United captain as the No 10 and Fernandes has been in his element as a key attacking threat for the Red Devils.

Fernandes has netted three times and registered eight assists for United in Carrick’s first 10 matches as interim head coach until the end of the current season.

Why Dimitar Berbatov feels that Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and other Man Utd players all feel the same right now

Bruno Fernandes has notched up an impressive 16 Premier League assists in 28 matches in the 2025-26 campaign, with the captain also netting eight times as well.

The Manchester United ace, who has 17 assists overall across all competitions, has been one of the standout performers under interim boss Michael Carrick.

Dimitar Berbatov talked up the impact of Fernandes during his appearance on the Red Devils’ podcast ahead of Man Utd’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth last Friday.

However, the former United striker has insisted that the likes of Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Casemiro have ‘stood out’ in the same way as Fernandes.

“I think the whole team as a team, it’s easy to point and say this guy or this player, you can easily say Bruno, Casemiro, you know, Sesko with the goals that he’s scoring now, Cunha and everybody,” Berbatov said on the Inside Carrington podcast.

“But that’s not going to be fair to the whole team as a team because all of a sudden, they are playing next for each other, not next, they play for each other.

“Like, you look left, you look right, you look back, you look forward, and you want to play for yourself and for the team.”

Dimitar Berbatov explains the theme of ‘synchronisation’ when it comes to Fernandes and Co at Man Utd

United legend Carrick has been widely hailed for his transformative impact on the Red Devils at Old Trafford since his appointment was made back in January.

The Red Devils have won seven Premier League matches from 10 under Carrick and Berbatov insisted that his former teammate has the Red Devils now playing in sync.

“And they get that synchronisation on the pitch that is just pure joy,” Berbatov continued.

“And now when I watch, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, you know, keep going, guys, you know,’ and the assist from Bruno, the goals from Sesko, the fire in Casemiro to get the ball, you know, the defending as well is improved.

“So, everything right now is flowing, free-flowing.”

Following United’s Premier League draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, the Red Devils will now return to action against Leeds United in April.
