Everton will surely be pleased about the news that Mo Salah is to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
Last night, it was announced by the winger that he’ll be departing Anfield in the summer, despite still having a year left on his contract.
Surely everyone is Moyes in now? 🤔
David Moyes.
There’s an agreement between him and Liverpool to leave on a free transfer, and there will now be plenty of speculation about who he’ll play for next.
That said, his agent took to X last night to confirm that they don’t yet know who his next club will be.
Inevitably after such a big development, there has been a lot of praise for Salah, who has certainly made his mark on the Premier League over the last nine years.
And Everton have frustratingly felt his wrath on numerous occasions.

Of course, there is a chance Salah could yet remain in the Premier League with another club.

But it feels far more likely that he’ll go overseas, just like Kevin De Bruyne did after leaving Manchester City.
And that may mean Everton breathe a sigh of relief, because Salah has certainly done a lot of damage over the years against the Toffees.
The Egyptian has taken to the field 14 times against Everton, and scored eight goals. He’s also made five assists.
He’s definitely been a thorn in the Toffees’ side down the years. He also scored a goal in the 2017/18 season against Everton that won him the Puskas award.
Of course, Salah has scored so many goals that a lot of other teams have felt his wrath.
Salah could yet add to his tally of eight goals, with Everton taking on Liverpool in the first game back after the current international break.
Mo Salah record vs Everton
Appearances – 14
Wins – 7
Draws – 5
Losses – 2
Goals – 8
Assists – 3
He would love nothing more than to score in his final Merseyside Derby, so Everton need to be very careful as he’ll be extra pumped up.
That said, Everton have been great defensively recently, with Jordan Pickford and the defenders in inspired form.
Salah has actually only scored one Premier League goal in 2026 so far. So hopefully, it will be a frustrating final appearance against Everton in the red of Liverpool, for a player who’s had far too much joy in the past.
