Ange Postecoglou makes next job revelation after Forest sacking

The former Celtic boss was dismissed by the English Premier League club after just 39 days at the helm.

Currently serving as a technical observer for UEFA, Postecoglou said that despite the disappointment of being let go by both Tottenham and Forest, he remains driven to achieve as he did at Celtic and his previous clubs.

However, he pledged to be strategic and only accept a managerial role if it allows him to come on board at the start of pre-season.

He said this would give him the best chance of success.

He said: "I’ve figured out that, for me to do what I do, the start of pre-season is a good starting point.

"Jumping in mid-season, especially in the Premier League but in most leagues, is just probably too much of a challenge for the way I do things.

"That’s what I’m holding out for."

Postecoglou made it clear that his passion for the game remains undiminished.

He is determined to return to management in Europe and make a lasting impact.

However, exactly where, and in what capacity, is yet to be determined.

Recognising that he has not yet achieved all he wants to do in European football, he declared: "I haven’t even scratched the surface of what I want to do over here yet, and the impact I want to make, the football I want to play."

His desire to lift silverware remains intact.

He has not been deterred by his recent setbacks, seeing them instead as a source of motivation.

"I want to win things still. I still have that drive and passion to achieve.

"That hasn’t changed," Postecoglou said.

He acknowledged that, wherever he decides to go next, he will face a considerable amount of scepticism.

But this, he insists, is exactly what he needs to push him onwards.

He admitted: "The fact now it’s the first time I’m coming off a bad experience – that’s just more fuel for me.

"Wherever I go in there will be plenty of scepticism – that’s brilliant, that’s what I need.

"Get the gloves, put the helmet on again on and go really hard."

As it stands, Postecoglou remains focused on his UEFA role, while keeping a close eye on future opportunities in management.

His resolve and determination to rise again mean his journey in football is far from over.
