Manchester United have become increasingly linked with signing a left-back this summer, and now Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall has emerged as an option.
This season has been Luke Shaw’s best for Manchester United in years, although he does ultimately look set to come up short in hopes of heading to the World Cup.
However, Shaw’s lack of athleticism and speed these days, as he manages intensity, mixed with the likely scenario of injury setbacks, has meant the desire to upgrade has emerged ahead of the transfer window.
United are considering Nathaniel Brown from Frankfurt as an option, while now Lewis Hall is also being considered by the Red Devils.
Which Newcastle player would you want Manchester United to sign the most?💰
United have been linked with Tonali, Gordon, Thiaw, Hall and Guimarães. But which makes most sense?

Lewis Hall emerges as a Manchester United left-back option
For Manchester United, the left side will be a close second place in terms of priorities this summer after the midfield.
Now, according to Danyal Khan of Sky Sports, the club are actively considering left-back signings.
German international Brown is named as a target, and so is Hall, who is rapidly becoming the crown jewel of Eddie Howe’s side.

Hall has reportedly impressed United with his campaign to date, which earned him a call-up to the England squad this month ahead of Shaw.
In many ways, Hall is the ideal Shaw replacement for United long-term at the age of just 21.
However, Hall has already surpassed Shaw in terms of his current quality and physically offers a lot more for United.

Signing Lewis Hall would impact Ineos’ planned midfield revamp
Hall is a strong potential addition, with his only drawback being related to the injury worries around him, which could be impactful as he grows older. However, he is arguably the best option on the market.
Signing Hall from Newcastle would have an impact on the transfer plans for midfield this summer.
This is because Newcastle would begrudgingly sell to United, making it tricky to sign one, let alone multiple players from St. James’ Park this summer.
Also from Newcastle, United have been linked with signing Sandro Tonali, with the Italian considered one of three priority midfield targets ahead of this summer. While Bruno Guimaraes is also wanted by United, according to reports.
So, United might need to pick carefully which player from the North East they want to target, as it could rule out the others.
