Manchester United
Manchester United star Bryan Mbeumo will miss this international break with Cameroon due to injury.
Last Friday, the forward played 71 minutes in the Premier League side’s 2-2 draw against AFC Bournemouth. Slovenia international Benjamin Šeško replaced him at the Liberty Stadium.
Two days ago, Manchester United said both Mbeumo and the striker have withdrawn from the Cameroon and Slovenia squads respectively.
The Red Devils have confirmed the former Brentford man had to miss the national team matches ‘as a precaution’.
‘Bryan Mbeumo has had to withdraw from Cameroon’s squad for friendlies against Australia and China, as a precaution, after being substituted in the 71st minute of Friday night’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.’
There was no further information on the nature of the setback or how long he will be out of action. Cameroon have also not issued any clarification on what forced the 26-year-old to miss the upcoming fixtures.
Lack of communication with Mbeumo’s injury
Actu Cameroun have a report on Bryan Mbeumo’s injury situation and why it hasn’t gone down well in his country.
The player isn’t available for the Indomitable Lions’ two friendlies against Australia and China in this international break. The concern and confusion are due to lack of updates on his current situation.
He was expected to arrive at Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport and be assessed by the national team staff. However, ‘against all expectations, he never showed up’.
The outlet suspects three reasons for the Manchester United man not travelling.
a unilateral decision by the club
an agreement between the player and his management
or a lack of coordination between the different parties
It feels Actu Cameroun don’t having the whole picture in front of them but went ahead to give their take on Mbeumo’s absence. There’s concern building without a great deal of foundation.
Flying to Sydney to be assessed by Cameroon medical staff would be a huge journey for very little. The match against China is also in Australia, and it’s no surprise Manchester United have pulled their player out.
