Jacobone: Milan defender could reunite with De Zerbi at Spurs – ‘enquiries’ made

Pervis Estupinan’s time at AC Milan could end up being a short one, especially if interest from the Premier League intensifies.

With Theo Hernandez heading to Al-Hilal, Milan needed a new starting left-back in the summer window. A move for Archie Brown collapsed right at the last minute as Fenerbahce swooped in, and then the management turned to Estupinan.

The Rossoneri got a deal done with Brighton relatively quickly and the Ecuadorian wasannounced as a new signing in an operation that closedunder the €20m mark. However, fast-forward to today and Estupinan is now a back-up to Davide Bartesaghi, who he lost his spot to months ago.

A reunion with De Zerbi?

As a result, there have been widespread rumours about a possible exit after just one year at the club. Journalist Alessandro Jacobone has put forward an interesting potential destination for the former VIllarreal man, one which would take him back to England.

“For now, it’s just a matter of simple inquiries, but keep an eye on Tottenham’s interest in the Rossoneri’s left-back Pervis Estupinan, who is appreciated in the Premier League, especially if the marriage between the London club and De Zerbi should come to fruition,” he said.

Spurs are currently in dire straits having found themselves in a relegation battle and could soon be choosing another new coach, with Roberto De Zerbi – who worked with Estupinan at Brighton – seemingly a contender.
