Despite their managerial situation remaining unclear, Manchester United bosses are forging ahead with preparations for next season.
Caretaker manager Michael Carrick is only under contract until May but is the favourite to secure the role permanently after seven victories, two draws and one loss in his opening 10 matches. The Red Devils' improvement in form has seen them climb to third in the Premier League table, putting them on track to secure next season's Champions League qualification.
A return to Europe's elite competition would provide United with a substantial financial injection, boosting their prospects of landing their priority targets. The Red Devils concentrated on recruiting Premier League-tested players last summer and are poised to adopt the same strategy this time.

Everton ace Iliman Ndiaye and Newcastle's Lewis Hall have emerged as targets for United ahead of the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports report that their hunt for a right-footed left winger has led them to target Ndiaye, 26, who found the net in Everton's brilliant 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday. The Senegal international is in his second campaign with Everton, who signed him from Marseille, and is reportedly valued at £70million.
RB Leipzig prodigy Yan Diomande would serve as an alternative to Ndiaye, with rivals Liverpool also linked to the 19-year-old Ivorian. However, that isn't the sole position which United are pursuing.
The Red Devils' scouting department, spearheaded by Christopher Vivell, are keen to bring in a left-back, with Newcastle ace Hall amongst their targets. The recently England-capped former Chelsea youngster has delivered another outstanding season at St James' Park. Caught Offside report talks would start at £65-£70million.

Hall, 21, shone in both matches of Newcastle's Champions League last-16 defeat to Barcelona. Eintracht Frankfurt's Nathaniel Brown is also reportedly on their radar, with the 22 year old Germany international netting four times and registering two assists in the Bundesliga this campaign.
The midfield represents another well-documented area that United are monitoring closely. Potential replacements for departing Casemiro include Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Joao Gomes and Adam Wharton.

Vivell was appointed head of the club's recruitment in February 2025 having initially arrived on a temporary arrangement. The ex-Chelsea and Leipzig executive caught the eye of United's senior figures and will work with director of football Jason Wilcox during the summer window.
