“We hope..” – Club insider drops massive boost for Leeds United’s rivals

Leeds United moved a further point clear of West Ham with a draw against Brentford last time out, while the Irons were lamenting the absences of Crysencio Summerville and Jean-Clair Todibo.

It’s getting to the point in the season where an injury to a key starter could be absolutely devastating for survival chances.

So, I’ve got my fingers crossed that Thomas Tuchel uses Dominic Calvert-Lewin sparingly on England duty. Elsewhere in the relegation battle, West Ham have their own issues to recover from this week.

West Ham hoping to have Crysencio Summerville and Jean-Clear Todibo back after Leeds United FA Cup tie

Up next for Leeds is a trip to 18th-placed West Ham in the FA Cup. A trip to Wembley for the semi-final is on the line for both sides, who are likely to have Premier League survival as a priority still.

That said, a win against a direct rival could do wonders for confidence, while heading to Wembley would serve as a massive lift for whichever fanbase too.

Ahead of that game, the Irons will be hoping to have both Crysencio Summerville and Jean-Clair Todibo back to fitness. The duo missed their defeat at West Ham through injury.

Now, Hammers News relay quotes from a spokesperson within the club on the duo’s pending return to action.

“Summerville is a huge miss!” the ‘top spokesman for West Ham’ said. “We hope and expect Summerville will be back for Wolves, but you never know with injuries.

“With Todibo it is a bit more straightforward and the two-week break should give him time to be back ready. Whether he is risked in the cup is up to the manager.”

Can Leeds United topple West Ham to book dream trip to Wembley for FA Cup semi-final?

It looks as though Summerville and Todibo won’t be risked for that FA Cup clash, based on their current injury problems.

I’d be surprised if Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to risk their injuries by playing them in the cup. For him, survival is surely the priority.

As for Leeds, I really don’t know if Farke will go full strength or not. I hope he does go strong. Because, a win would be huge for us going to Wembley, and for our confidence moving forward.

Obviously, keeping players fit is more important than anything.
