Jarrod Bowen to Liverpool as Salah Replacement : Update from Sky Sports | West Ham News

Ever since Mohammed Salah stalled over his contract extension last year, before finally adding another season at Anfield, rumours circulated that West Ham’s skipper Jarrod Bowen might be the man in the cross hairs to replace the miracle Egyptian who has had a stellar career with the Reds.

With Salah calling ‘time’ on his Merseyside career with just seven games remaining as a Red, the rumour factory has started going full speed ahead on who a ‘minted’ Liverpool side will go and buy to appease their fans and try and re-launch a credible Premier League title campaign next season.

Bowen to Liverpool? Not according to Sky Sports’ Jamie O’Hara

Sky Sports’ Jamie O’Hara, not exactly the best friend of West Ham fans, has been forthright as usual with his own opinion on Salah’s replacement, be it West Ham’s Bowen or Fulham’s Harry Wilson:

““Bowen and [Harry] Wilson are really good players, but they ain’t Salah. Come on. He’s irreplaceable.””

The fact that both are twenty nine years old is perhaps even more important: Liverpool’s last round of acquisitions was of players of a far younger profile: Ekitike (23) Frimpong (25) Wirtz (22) and Kerkez (22) show which way they are heading with Isak (26) the only one of their major signings the wrong side of 25.

Which makes it doubtful that they’d leap at Jarrod Bowen, nearing thirty. Sounds like big sighs of relief all around, despite O’Hara’s backhanded put-down to West Ham’s finest.
