Ayden Heaven reaches international milestone after training with England senior team

Ayden Heaven was one of three players invited from the U21 squad to train with the England first team on Wednesday.

It would be fair to say Ayden Heaven’s career has gone from strength to strength since his transfer to Manchester United from Arsenal at the beginning of 2025.

Heaven was one of two signings made by Ruben Amorim in his former United head coach’s first transfer window. He made his first start for the Red Devils in March 2025 against Real Sociedad in the Europa League.

The England youth international has made a total of 21 appearances for the first team.

Ayden Heaven trains with England first team

Heaven has seen his game time cut since Carrick became interim head coach in early January.

Still only 19, Heaven cannot be unhappy with the fact he’s already made 16 appearances this season, including three substitute cameos under Carrick.

Heaven was called up to the England U21 squad for the upcoming international break, but today he reached another milestone in his career.

According to Sky Sports reporter duo Danyal Khan and Rob Dorsett, Heaven was invited to train with Thomas Tuchel’s England first team on Wednesday.

It was the first time Heaven had trained with England’s senior team, and he will be hoping the introduction leads to more opportunities after the 2026 World Cup.

Heaven would have joined the United duo Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo in the training session.

It’s a good opportunity for Heaven, a talented player with tremendous potential. The experience of training with other senior professionals will only make him better.

Ayden Heaven could make first start under Michael Carrick against Leeds

Heaven may be in contention to get his first start under Carrick when United take on rivals Leeds in the Premier League following the international break and FA Cup quarter-finals, the latter of which the Red Devils regrettably have no involvement in.

It’s a 24-day break for United, and the club have already arranged a four-day training camp in the Republic of Ireland.

Heaven may be a contender to start alongside Leny Yoro, unless Lisandro Martinez returns from injury in time.

Harry Maguire has been suspended for the game following a red card in United’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.
