Liverpool will continue to be linked with players in the Premier League but one target might not be on the move.

Liverpool will always target young players who have proven that they can play in the Premier League – especially if they are home grown.

The list is endless of English players who have moved to Anfield after making the breakthrough and impressing in one of the best leagues in the world. Domestic players come at a price though, and rarely are rival teams keen to sell to someone else in the same league.

Liverpool get Lewis Hall transfer update

This would appear to be the stumbling block for any move for the £70m-rated and Liverpool-linked Lewis Hall of Newcastle United. According to Graeme Bailey, transfer journalist for TEAMtalk, Liverpool aren’t the only team interested: “Newcastle United have no intention of allowing Lewis Hall to leave the club this summer, despite Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all showing interest in the full-back.

“TEAMtalk understands sources confirm Liverpool, Arsenal, and Man Utd have all shown some interest in the progress of the former Chelsea starlet, whose rapid development has not gone unnoticed. Sources indicate he is firmly in contention to start for the Three Lions this summer, underlining his meteoric rise over the past year.”

What has Hall said about Newcastle exit?

As with Alexander Isak, sometimes player power is needed to force a move when a club doesn’t want to sell, but on this occasion, it doesn’t seem likely that Hall will rock the boat at St James’ Park: “Despite the growing speculation, Newcastle remain relaxed about the situation. The club are fully aware of the interest being generated, but crucially, there is no indication that Hall or his representatives are agitating for a move away from St James’ Park.”

It looks like Liverpool will need to replace Andy Robertson, however, Milos Kerkez has shown a lot more recently and he has established himself as first choice. Hall would be a very expensive back-up.
