Harry Maguire has expressed his full backing for 'amazing' Michael Carrick securing the Manchester United job permanently. Carrick has triggered a stunning reversal in United's form since taking charge as caretaker manager, winning seven of his 10 matches which has propelled them closer to Champions League qualification.
It's evident that former United player Carrick enjoys substantial support from the squad, with Maguire maintaining it falls to the players to secure a top-four finish before trusting the leadership to reach the correct conclusion. Maguire anticipates another 'big summer' regarding signings but equally believes Carrick warrants being 'right into the mix' when selecting the next manager.

He said: "Listen, Carrick coming in, he's been amazing. He speaks really, really well. He's tactically very, very good.
"He's brought in some amazing staff. Steve Holland, amazing to bring his experience in and someone he can lean on.
"He's got Jonathan Woodgate and Jonny Evans there helping the younger defenders at the club and all the defenders giving us tips.
"Listen, it's not up to us. I think there's seven games left. We've put ourselves in a great position. I think we've got to finish the season strong, and I think he should go right into the mix of the other candidates and let the process begin.
"I'm sure it will do and I'm sure it's going to be a thorough process, and it's going to be a big summer. We know that for Manchester United.
"We need bodies in, bodies to help the squad. We know that. We need improvement in the squad. We need more bodies.

"It's going to be a big recruitment in the management department, and I'm sure that the hierarchy will get it right."
Despite Carrick's remarkable form, which has propelled United into third place, it remains uncertain whether he will secure the permanent role following Ruben Amorim's dismissal in January.
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner was initially considered the front-runner but his prospects have diminished following a poor run, while Thomas Tuchel committed his future to England until 2028.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique would represent an ideal appointment for many supporters, but the likelihood of attracting him would seem remote.
United are also preparing substantial transfer activity with club chiefs determined to sign midfield talent, with Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson heading their wish-list.
