Man United have identified the left-back position as one to strengthen this summer

Manchester United are thought to be pursuing transfer targets in multiple key positions this summer and look on course to have their prospects in the market boosted by a return to the Champions League next term.

The Red Devils are sitting in third place under Michael Carrick after a run of seven victories in his first 10 Premier League matches in charge since returning as head coach until the end of the season and face bitter rivals Leeds United next up following the international break as they look to strengthen their current position further.

Major groundwork is already being done by United for top transfer targets this summer, according to reports. While the midfield is thought to be a priority, defensive additions are also being considered and the left-back slot is one which has been identified to strengthen.

Luke Shaw has had an impressive campaign but with less than 18 months left on his deal and a history of injury issues, coupled with the expected departure of Tyrell Malacia, a long-term successor to Shaw could be brought in this summer window in order to allow Patrick Dorgu to play further forward.

Man Utd ‘offered’ Alphonso Davies with Bayern Munich future uncertain

As reported by TEAMtalk, Man United are one of multiple Premier League clubs who have been ‘offered’ Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Intermediaries are ‘actively sounding out’ potential interest in the 25-year-old Canada international, who has been a top performer for the German champions since signing in 2018 but sees his future at the club uncertain after recently returning from an extended lay-off with an ACL injury.

United and arch-rivals Liverpool were amongst the first clubs to be contacted over Davies, while Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have also been contacted regarding the player and giants Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG have also been made aware of the situation. Reporting continues that while Bayern are not actively pushing Davies towards an exit, they are ‘open’ to offers for the dynamic full-back if big-money approaches arrive.
