Darwin Nunez spent three years at Liverpool and was part of the Premier League-winning title squad.
Darwin Nunez admits that he misses Liverpool’s fans who ‘always gave me affection’.
Nunez opted to leave Anfield last summer after spending three years at the club. Signed for an initial £64 million from Benfica in 2022, the striker endured ups and downs during his Reds career.
But he still helped Liverpool win the Premier League title last season, as well as the Carabao Cup. And despite his exit to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, Liverpool remain close to his heart.
Speaking to Uruguay’s media team, he said: “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss them [the people of Liverpool]. The truth is, they made me feel very welcome, and my family too. During some difficult times I went through personally, the people always gave me that affection, that support, and that was very important to me, and obviously I miss Liverpool.”
In total, Nunez scored 40 goals and recorded 22 assists in 143 appearances for Liverpool.
