Two reasons why Man Utd are considering an early move for Yan Diomande this summer

Manchester United have identified Yan Diomande as a transfer target they may move quickly for this summer.

With just seven games left to play in the Premier League, Manchester United are making plans for the upcoming transfer window.

United are likely to prioritise the search for a midfielder following Casemiro’s decision to leave at the end of the season, as well as uncertainties over Manuel Ugarte’s future at Old Trafford.

Another position of concern at United is believed to be the left wing, with Marcus Rashford set to depart United permanently at the end of the season.

Yan Diomande is high on Man Utd’s list of left-winger targets

A big summer awaits United, with major decisions to be made over who becomes the head coach beyond this season and what targets are chosen as priorities.

As stated earlier in the piece, the priority area will be the midfield department. United need to find a partner for Kobbie Mainoo, on top of additional recruits, to bolster the position ahead of the campaign that will hopefully see the Red Devils return to the Champions League.

A new report from Sky Sports names two potential options United are considering for the left-wing position.

RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande is understood to be high on the transfer list of left-wing targets

It is claimed that United may act early in the summer to sign Diomande for two reasons. They include the winger’s huge potential at just 19-years-old and the belief he is in high demand for several clubs.

Benjamin Sesko is the last player United signed from RB Leipzig, so this could be a sign of the two clubs building relations in the transfer market, with Christopher Vivell undoubtedly playing a key role.

The other player named in the article is Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye, who has performed well under former United manager David Moyes this season.

Yan Diomande to miss internationals with Ivory Coast

Diomande, whom United have been scouting this season, suffered a shoulder injury during Leipzig’s Bundesliga clash against TSG Hoffenheim.

It remains to be seen how long the young attacker will be ruled out, but he will be sidelined throughout the international break.

That means Diomande will not join Amad Diallo on the March international break.

United will undoubtedly pay close attention to how the Ivorian winger performs for the remainder of the season.
