The striker bullied the Magpies on Sunday on his way to scoring the winning goal in the Tyne-Wear derby and picking up the Man of the Match award.
Sven Botman, Dan Burn and Malick Thiaw found out the hard way that trying to shackle Brobbey is one of the toughest Premier League challenges for a defender.
Brobbey had something of a slow start to life at Sunderland as he got up to speed and adjusted to life in the Premier League, but the 24-year-old is now very much a star figure in Regis Le Bris' starting XI.

He's Sunderland's top scorer and the main man up-front, with his no-nonsense physical approaching causing no end of issues for opposing defenders. But off the pitch, he's as relaxed as they come.
“He scored, picked the Man of the Match trophy up and then went off straight in the shower....if he’s any more laid back, he’d fall over," laughed Chris Rigg after Brobbey stole the show in Sunday's derby.
“He’s so crucial for us, as you saw, another big goal – and he’s come up with a few of those moments, so it's thanks to him."
Brobbey has been a hit on the pitch and in the dressing room for the Black Cats.
Rigg said: “He’s exactly the same as he is on the pitch. He’s just so chilled-out and he’s such a nice guy, you can speak to him about anything. And he’s an immense footballer as well."
Le Bris would certainly agree. Sunderland's head coach has been thrilled by the impact Brobbey has had in his first season at the Stadium of Light - and believes there's even more to come.
“He is getting better day-by-day, he’s impressive," said Le Bris.
“We needed time as a team to find the right connections, the way we want to play with him and the way we want to use his strength. Now, he is becoming a big threat and that is good for the club.”
Brobbey has played his way back into the Netherlands squad with his form and goals for Sunderland, and after his dramatic winner at St James' Park the striker headed off to link up with Ronald Koeman's squad ahead of the friendlies against Norway on Friday and Ecuador next Tuesday.
Fitness was an issue for Brobbey during his time at Ajax, but Koeman is enormously impressed by the condition the striker is now in, as well as his form, and is looking forward to having a close look at the frontman as he ponders his options ahead of this summer's World Cup.
Koeman told the Dutch media: “He is doing very well, which is why he is included. I do want to see him in the match, and I am curious about that.
“I can best compare him to the Brobbey who was here last time, when he was still playing for Ajax.
“He’s much fitter now and is adapting wonderfully to the intensity demands of the Premier League. He used to have problems with that. His move has worked out very well. Initially, he hasn’t played much, but he has earned his spot.
“That could also have to do with the level of the competition, that he was able to remain important here with less. That isn’t possible in the Premier League, Also, because of the club he plays for. They are doing great, but that is focused on going until the very last second. That is a different kind of training than what we have in the Netherlands.”
