“I’ve matured a bit now, I’ve experienced a lot of ups and downs. Quite a lot of downs, to be honest, in terms of injuries,” he told the media in Wednesday’s press conference.
“But it’s only going to benefit me for my future ahead. What have I learned about myself? That I’ve got a lot of patience and that I’m quite strong minded.”
Everton rejected summer interest in Patterson from Sevilla, which has led to the player barely featuring for the Blues.
Patterson has registered just six appearances in the Premier League, with his last cameo display coming back in January.
The summer will mark Everton’s last real opportunity to cash in on the 24-year-old who has simply not earned the trust of Moyes on Merseyside.
Having already stirred up a lot of interest over the last two transfer windows, Patterson’s future seemingly lies elsewhere ahead of the new season.
