Crystal Palace target Juan Cabal
Crystal Palace target Juan Cabal
Crystal Palace have made initial contact to sign Juventus’ Juan Cabal in the summer.
Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy about Crystal Palace making an approach to sign Cabal.
The Colombia international first moved to Europe in 2022, when Hellas Verona signed him from Atlético Nacional, a club he graduated from.
In July 2024, Juventus offered €11m plus €1.8m as potential bonuses to Hellas Verona for the left-back.
He made seven appearances in his first season, which ended abruptly in November 2024, after a serious knee injury. This forced him to spend 246 days on the sidelines and he then picked up two different injuries in the first half of this season.
The 25-year-old has played 514 minutes from 19 matches this season. His Serie A statistics per game are as follows:
|Serie A 2025/26||
|---|
|Appearances|12|
|Started|2|
|Minutes per game|25|
|Total minutes played|296|

His injuries and limited game time since joining Juventus don’t seem to have stopped the Eagles from showing interest.
Crystal Palace need €15m
Colombian journalist Adrián E Magnoli took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a short but an important update about Crystal Palace.
He claims the Premier League side have identified Juan Cabal as a ‘priority signing’ for the summer window.
The journalist further adds it would cost Oliver Glasner’s side €15m to sign the fullback.
That’s all he has to say about Crystal Palace, without mentioning either Juventus or the player’s stance on a potential move to the London club.
The Eagles have Jefferson Lerma and Daniel Muñoz as Colombians in the squad and the former’s contract expires in June. Should Lerma sign an extension, Cabal can meet two of his compatriots, provided he ends up at Selhurst Park.
Why Cabal could make sense for Eagles
Oliver Glasner has Tyrick Mitchell, Borna Sosa and Rio Cardines as the three left-backs at his disposal.
Mitchell is the first choice and if Sosa were to leave, Juan Cabal can take his place at Crystal Palace next season.
The South American signed a contract with Juventus until 2029 and now valued at €9m by Transfermarkt.
