Luke Baker becomes new Director of Commercial Sponsorships at AC Milan after leaving Man Utd

AC Milan have hired a new Director of Commercial Sponsorships, with Luke Baker joining from Manchester United.

While there is no official statement on the club website yet, Baker has announced his move to Milan as Director of Commercial Sponsorships via his LinkedIn profile, after holding the same role for nine years at Manchester United.

Baker’s background

On his profile, Baker gives his career background. Having graduated from the University of Surrey, he would go on to spend time at Windows as a Segment Marketing Assistant, then moving on the become an Account Executive and a Media Network Sales Strategist for the company.

From there, Baker moved on to Apple to be part of the iAd Business Development team, then to Kargo, and then Manchester United came calling. He spent nearly nine years there as the Global Sponsorship Manager and the Director of Principal Partnerships.

As per his profile, Baker began at AC Milan in February 2026 as the Senior Commercial Director. This means that – like his previous experiences – he will likely be in charge of sponsorship strategy and engineering brand deals.

As a reminder, RedBird Capital recently took ‘full control’ of the club by paying off the vendor loan to Elliott Management, lead to talk of some reshuffling at corporate level. This might just be one of the moves Gerry Cardinale had in mind.
