LA Galaxy and Inter Miami have reportedly contacted Casemiro over signing the Manchester United midfielder despite neither Major League Soccer club having an available designated player slot.

Exceeding the maximum salary budget charge by paying him over £600,000 this year would break league rules.

Their interest comes after the Manchester Evening News reported that Casemiro and United have agreed to waive a clause in his contract that could have prevented him from starting one of their remaining Premier League matches.

HEREHEREHERE,HERE.

The 34-year-old is due to leave United this summer. The club decided not to extend his contract earlier this season.

However, starting 35 matches this season would automatically have extended his deal by an additional year. Casemiro is currently on 28 starts with seven matches remaining, so he would hit that mark if his streak of 14 successive starts continued to the final day of this season.

That is now immaterial after agreeing that the clause was unnecessary due to his impending departure. Plans are already afoot to sign a replacement, and Casemiro is now said to be close to agreeing terms over a summer move.

The Athletic have credited LA Galaxy and Inter Miami with interest in the Brazil international. ESPN adds that both MLS clubs have contacted Casemiro over recent days.

However, they claim that no clubs have yet made formal offers. Al Ittihad are another club credited with an interest in the midfielder.

The Saudi Pro League side are said to be keen and monitoring the situation. Casemiro could replace Fabinho, his fellow Brazilian, in Jeddah as he is also out of contract this summer.

The former Liverpool player leaving could be key to any move for the free agent this summer. Clubs are only allowed to register 10 non-Saudi players, two of whom must have been born in 2004 or later, and they currently have 13 in their squad.

Over in Miami, signing Casemiro would replace Sergio Busquets, who retired at the end of last season alongside Jordi Alba after they won the MLS Cup. Their current designated players are German Berterame, Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul.

They also have seven players on targeted allocation money contracts, seemingly including Luis Suarez and former United loanee Sergio Reguilon. Casemiro would have to take a similar deal to those pair if he wants to join them in Miami.

On the opposite coast, the Galaxy have Gabriel Pec, Joao Klauss and Joseph Paintsil as their designated players, with Riqui Puig due to miss this season through injury.

However, they have a more clear route to signing Casemiro, as they could be able to make Klauss' deal a targeted allocation money contract to free up a designated player spot.
