AC Milan could rekindle their interest in signing Marcus Rashford ahead of the summer window amid doubts about his future.
Milan were linked with a move for Rashford in the 2025 January transfer window, before they ended up signing Santiago Gimenez and Joao Felix instead to bolster the attacking department. The interest, it seems, never went away, and the links popped up again in the summer.
Rashford: A flame reignited?
According to the latest from CaughtOffside, Barcelona are ‘unsure about signing the Manchester United forward permanently’. They have an option to buy him for €30m but are dragging their feet over the deal, which is frustrating all involved.
As a result of this limbo, other clubs are now looking very closely at Rashford. The website claims he is ‘still admired by previous suitors Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan’. Those are the only two confirmed clubs in the mix, but others are likely to emerge.
It also remains a possibility that ‘some kind of compromise could still be struck’ regarding a permanent move to Barca, especially given the fact that Rashford himself ‘is keen to remain at the Nou Camp’.
The source told them: “Barcelona are backtracking on Rashford now. It’s still not clear if they’ve closed the door entirely or if they’ll try to negotiate a lower fee, or if Rashford himself might have to lower his wage demands.”
Barcelona are seemingly trying to rework the agreement to pay Rashford’s fee in instalments, even if United want the full clause be paid up front. More talks will be held and if they are not productive, Milan and PSG could step forward.
