'He's the man': Danny Murphy says former West Ham boss would save Tottenham from relegation

Tottenham are currently looking for a new interim manager to replace Igor Tudor over the international break.

Tudor has failed to win any of his five games in charge of the North London club, with just one draw (1-1 vs Liverpool).

This run has seen Spurs fall to 17th in the Premier League table, only one point above London rivals West Ham.

Former England international Danny Murphy has now suggested Spurs hire an ex-Hammers boss to save them from relegation.

Is this the WORST prediction of the season? 😂

Danny Murphy suggests Sam Allardyce for Tottenham job

Although Spurs have not yet sacked Tudor, they are actively looking to replace him for the final seven games of the season.

Former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi and Austrian coach Adolf Hutter have been linked with the job.

However, Murphy is convinced that survival specialist Sam Allardyce should be the first man on Tottenham’s shortlist.

Allardyce has previously kept West Ham, Sunderland, Everton and Crystal Palace in the Premier League, among others.

“Well, right now, the one who screams at me, but he’s not Tottenham, is Sam Allardyce,” Murphy explained on talkSPORT.

“He’s the man who knows how to get results, but he’s been out of the game for a while, so it’s probably unrealistic.”

Murphy’s second choice would be Tim Sherwood, who has already coached Spurs in the 2013-14 season.

Danny Murphy expects West Ham to avoid relegation

Danny Murphy is confident that West Ham will avoid relegation after seeing their recent form under Nuno Espirito Santo.

While Tottenham continue to concede goals, the Hammers have established a solid defence under the Portuguese boss.

“West Ham under Nuno have a good shape, a good platform,” Murphy added. “I know Villa beat them; Villa are a good side. It’s hard to go to Villa [even] when you’re playing well.

“That was only West Ham’s second defeat in seven, so they’ve got a bit about them, and they’re having a go.”

Murphy then made his final prediction that Spurs will finish the season in 18th place and be relegated to the Championship.

“I’ve looked at all the team’s fixtures down there and I think they’re struggling. I think they could go.”

Every West Ham supporter will be hoping that Murphy’s prediction comes true, as it would mark an incredible end to a difficult season.
