James Garner is up for Premier League Player of the Month – and the midfielder stands to achieve a bit of history for Everton.
James Garner has enjoyed an exceptional season for the Toffees so far, and his contributions to Everton’s cause have just seen him earn a first-ever senior England call-up.
Dewsbury-Hall deserves to be in the England squad with Garner, do you agree? 🤔
FIVE goalkeepers have been included for some reason! 😡

That was no less than he deserved, and hopefully he will now get some decent minutes against Uruguay and Japan.
But there is more good news for Garner.
Because he has also now been included in the latest shortlist for Premier League Player of the Month.
And if he wins, there will be a first for Everton.

Perhaps surprisingly, Everton have actually never had more than just one winner of the Premier League Player of the Month award in a single season.
The competition was born in 1992, and we are currently in the 34th season.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
There have been 10 Everton winners of the Premier League’s Player of the Month award, but the Toffees have never boasted multiple winners in a single season.
The previous winners are as follows:
Nikica Jelavic and Marouane Fellaini both won awards in the year of 2012 for Everton. But these came in different seasons.
Player Month
Duncan Ferguson February 1995
Andrei Kanchelskis April 1996
Kevin Campbell April 1999
Andrew Johnson September 2006
Phil Jagielka February 2009
Nikica Jelavic April 2012
Marouane Fellaini November 2012
Romelu Lukaku March 2017
Dominic Calvert-Lewin September 2020
Jack Grealish August 2025
James Garner? March 2026 ?
Garner has been nominated for the Player of the Month award for March and if he wins, it will be the first time ever that Everton will have had multiple POTM winners in a single campaign.
Of course, the other winner of Player of the Month for Everton in the current season was Jack Grealish, who made an explosive start to life at Hill Dickinson Stadium after joining the club on loan from Manchester City.
He won in August, having made four assists in the three games he played.
If Garner takes the latest award home, it will certainly be a great reflection on manager David Moyes.
Garner faces strong competition
Garner has a good chance of winning, but there are other players also in with a very good shout.
Bruno Fernandes is perhaps the strongest competition for Garner, with the Manchester United ace having scored two goals and made four assists in four games.
His efforts have boosted United’s hopes of finishing in the top four.
Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Gordon and Danny Welbeck all scored three goals each in March, so it will be interesting to see who claims the award.
