Mohamed Salah could be reunited with several former Liverpool team-mates should he make the switch to the Saudi Pro League. The Egyptian has confirmed he will leave the Reds at the end of the season, with another former team-mate suggesting it will take £200million to replace him.

After nine years spearheading the attack at Anfield, Salah took to social media this week with the poignant announcement that this campaign will be his last in a Liverpool shirt. The 33-year-old will leave having claimed nearly every major honour while scoring over 250 goals for the club. However, Salah's next move is now the subject of much speculation.

Throughout his spell with Liverpool, the winger has frequently been linked with interest from the Saudi Pro League. A staggering £150m offer from Al-Ittihad for Salah was reportedly turned down in 2023, while Al-Hilal have also been mentioned as a potential suitor. Should he sign for either club, he would link up with some familiar faces.

If Salah chose to join Al-Ittihad, he would likely line up alongside Fabinho once more. The Brazilian midfielder spent five years at Anfield and became a key component of Jurgen Klopp's side.

He was crucial to the Reds' Champions League victory in 2019 and their 2019/2020 Premier League title. Fabinho left Liverpool in 2023 for Saudi Arabia, though he insisted he hadn't pushed for an exit.

"I didn't want to leave and go to any other club in Europe," he told the Guardian. "I thought Liverpool was the best place in the world to play, to keep developing as a player. I wanted my legacy and my history at the club to grow even more.

"But our last season was very gruelling, tiring. I lost my position as a starter for a few games, but that happens. I came back for the following season with a very good mentality. But before the season started, Al-Ittihad made an offer for me.

"The Liverpool directors said it was very good for the club and for me. Liverpool is a club I love but the things that happened at the time steered my life towards Arabia. I left in peace and happy with my decision."

The Brazilian may soon reunite with Salah in the dressing room. However, should the Egypt international head to Al-Hilal instead, he could link up with another recognisable face in Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan signed for Liverpool in 2022 from Benfica.

During his three seasons with the club, Nunez's performances were erratic but he was part of the squad that clinched the Premier League title in Arne Slot's first season. He was sold last summer for an initial £46m but has since been sidelined following Karim Benzema's switch from Al-Ittihad to Al-Hilal.

Wherever Salah ultimately lands, he will need replacing at Anfield. Former team-mate Dejan Lovren suggested last year that the task would be financially demanding for Liverpool.

Speaking to winwin, Lovren asked: "Who will you replace him with? That would be the first question if I was in the club. I think you would have to pay 200 million to replace him."

While Liverpool will begin formulating plans to find Salah's successor, the Egypt international could still sign off with another trophy. The Reds are in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and Champions League.
