Jurgen Klopp is relishing his return to Anfield after landing back in the UK on Thursday afternoon. Klopp jetted in as he prepares to return to the home dugout at Anfield for the Liverpool legends against Borussia Dortmund legends game on Saturday afternoon.
The LFC Foundation charity match kicks off at 3pm, with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Thiago Alcantara, Pepe Reina, Peter Crouch and many more taking part. The Reds will be managed by Sir Kenny Dalglish, with Klopp, Ian Rush and John Aldridge assisting the Kop icon.
And after landing at Manchester Airport, Klopp posted a video on Instagram in which he said: "Hi guys, we are back. From Manchester to Liverpool. My favourite direction actually.
"I'm looking forward to the next three days, with the highlight being the Legends game between Liverpool and Dortmund, my two former clubs.
"I can't wait to see a lot of friends. I can't wait to meet you all, to be honest. It feels like ages ago, but it wasn't even a year ago that I was here. I'm so surprised the weather is OK.
"A lot of wonderful things are coming up: the foundation and football, seeing the AXA (training ground) and Anfield. I can't wait. Hope you're good and see you soon."
Klopp stepped down as Liverpool manager in the summer of 2024, after almost nine years in charge, to take a break from management. During his time in charge of the Reds, the German won the Champions League and Premier League, and his close bond with the club prompted him to state he would never coach another English side.
And even though Klopp has been Red Bull’s global head of soccer since January 2025, that hasn’t stopped him being consistently linked with a return to coaching. Real Madrid has been mentioned as a possible destination in recent weeks following Xabi Alonso’s departure in January.

And although Klopp earlier this week admitted he might coach again, he slammed speculation that he will return to management with Real this summer as 'nonsense'. He said: "If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now.
"But that's all nonsense. They haven't called even once, not once. My agent is there, you can ask him. They haven't called him either. Right now I'm not thinking about that, luckily there's no reason to.
"For my age I'm quite advanced in life, but as a coach I'm not completely finished. I haven't reached retirement age. Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there's nothing planned."
