Manchester United are considering a move to sign Arsenal teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly in a left-back bolstering move.
Over the past few days, it has become clear that Manchester United are looking at left-back options ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
This has resulted in United adding Myles Lewis-Skelly to a shortlist, alongside Ineos’ interest in Lewis Hall. Both would be solid signings, offering a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw.
Lewis-Skelly is a midfielder by trade, but got his start at Arsenal as a full-back. With the links growing, Gary Neville has already shared his verdict on this potential signing.

Myles Lewis-Skelly already has Gary Neville’s approval amid Manchester United links
Signing a talent like Lewis-Skelly would be a brilliant move for United to add quality and versatility to the squad.
Speaking last year amid the 19-year-old’s breakthrough, Gary Neville spoke on the It’s Called Soccer podcast, sharing his admiration for Lewis-Skelly.
“It was a position causing Arsenal problems at times in the last year or two. I don’t think they ever really buttoned it down. They had Tierney, Zinchenko, tried a couple of other options, centre-backs playing out there…

“I think he is an absolute find, unbelievable talent, and his temperament is fantastic.
“On the ball, the way he dribbles past people, it just mesmerises me. It shouldn’t be happening, really, at any age, let alone that age.”
Lewis-Skelly’s ability to come into the Arsenal team and immediately be key for them last season is why United should absolutely look to sign him.
Arsenal need to sell to buy, and if he’s available, Lewis-Skelly would be a really good addition to the squad.

Lewis-Skelly idolised Paul Pogba as a youngster
While targeted as a left-back, Lewis-Skelly will long-term have aspirations of returning to the midfield position he broke through in.
Last year, Lewis-Skelly admitted his idol was Paul Pogba, which is unsurprising given Pogba will be an inspiration to most midfielders of that age.
Lewis-Skelly was a brilliant inverted left-back for Arsenal, which might not completely align with United’s plans as an overlapping left-back might be preferred.
However, signing him offers United a very talented footballer who could play midfield, defensive midfield, and full-back, offering quality in depth across multiple positions.
If costing less than £40m, United couldn’t go wrong with Lewis-Skelly, who would arrive as the third youngster to jump ship for Old Trafford in the Ineos era after Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven.
