Adama Traore is reportedly looking for a new club this summer as uncertainty continues to surround West Ham’s Premier League status, according to Football Insider.
The 30-year-old winger joined the Hammers on a short-term deal in January, set to expire at the end of the season.
With his contract ending, a number of Premier League sides are said to be monitoring his availability, ready to take a low-risk gamble on the free agent.
Traore remains a favourite of Nuno Espírito Santo, but the manager’s own future at the London Stadium is uncertain. Should West Ham be relegated, both Traore and Nuno could be set to depart, leaving the club facing a challenging summer window.
Traore Move “Hasn’t Worked Out”
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former professional and pundit Graham Brown reflected on Traore’s short spell at the Hammers.
“I expect Traore will look for another Premier League club. I was somewhat surprised West Ham made a move for him in the first place, but he’s got a good relationship with the manager, so it made sense,” he said.
“They were short in wide areas and lacking pace, so they decided Traore would bring something different. They took a chance on him with a six-month contract, but it hasn’t really worked out.
“If they get relegated, there’s no way he’ll stick around and I doubt very much whether they’d want him to, so then it’s about where else he could go. I don’t think he has the quality to be a top-level player, but his physical attributes mean there are Premier League clubs willing to take a gamble on him.”
Traore’s future at West Ham now looks uncertain.
While his physicality and experience make him a tempting short-term option for some Premier League clubs, his time at the London Stadium has not lived up to expectations. The winger could be on his way out this summer, particularly if the Hammers fail to secure their top-flight status.
