There will be no World Cup for Seamus Coleman and the Republic of Ireland this summer after they suffered a heart-breaking penalty shoot-out defeat to Czechia tonight.
Coleman was in from the off at right wing-back and Ireland started well.
They were 2-0 up after 23 minutes following a penalty from Troy Parrott and an own goal from Matej Kovář.
However, a spot-kick from Patrik Schick had Czechia 2-1 behind at the break.
Ladislav Krejci then headed in an equaliser in the 86th minute and sent the game to extra-time.
Coleman gave his all and was replaced early in extra-time.
The match went all the way to penalties but Ireland lost out 4-3.
Czechia now advance to face Denmark whereas Ireland will have to pick themselves up to face North Macedonia in a friendly on Tuesday.
