Crystal Palace and Leeds United‘s 0-0 draw should see Thomas Bramall handed a one-match ban, Keith Hackett has said.

Bramall was the man in the middle for the contest, and he sent off Leeds’ Gabriel Gudmundsson after a second bookable offence before half-time.

The Premier League Key Match Incidents panel have voted that it should not have been a dismissal, and the challenge was not worthy of a second booking.

The ex-PGMOL chief has hit out after the verdict, and Leeds supporters will fully agree with what he has said.

What did Hackett say about Leeds vs Palace controversy?

Leeds have been on the wrong end of several decisions, and the KMI panel ruled that they should have been awarded a penalty in the 1-0 loss to Sunderland on 3 March.

Hackett was incensed with the fact that the Whites had another ruling go in their favour after the fact, when the outcome on the game cannot be changed.

The Premier League's KMI Panel unanimously votes that Gabriel Gudmundsson should not have been sent off at Palace.

KMI Panel said that there was "minimal contact" by the Leeds defender and "the challenge was careless and not clearly reckless". #LUFC

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, he said: “I made it clear in our coverage within minutes of the incident that the referee had got it wrong.

“The KMI panel have confirmed that it was an incorrect decision.

“That, of course, does not help Leeds Utd

“What is important is that the PGMOL investigate and follow up on these KMI panel decisions.

“The team of officials got this decision wrong. Important that they receive the appropriate operational

advice and the loss of an appointment.

“Thomas Bramall, having made this key error, should receive a one-match ban sanction.”

Why Daniel Farke will not care about KMI’s verdict

Leeds and Daniel Farke will be sick of hearing from the KMI panel that a decision that went against the Peacocks should have gone in their favour.

It is no good admitting that it is wrong after the fact, that does not help the LS11 in their relegation fight, and the points lost could hurt them.

Leeds’ disciplinary record this season Premier League

Yellow cards 51

Red cards 1

Penalties given away 6

Penalty goals conceded 6

Leeds’ disciplinary stats in the Premier League this season.

If Bramall is given a suspension, it would be nice for Whites supporters, but it will literally have no impact on their team’s fate in the top-flight.

The Yorkshire side need to complain to the Premier League and seek an explanation as to why there is no accountability for the referees who make these mistakes.

Farke will not care that they have said it was wrong, he needs action.
