Everton captain Seamus Coleman has responded to the speculation over his potential retirement following Ireland’s loss on Thursday.
He may have barely played for Everton this season, but Coleman was able to put in a 95-minute shift for his nation in their World Cup Qualifier.
It was not to be for the Boys in Green, with Jake O’Brien also seeing his side lose out on penalties to the Czech Republic.

At the age of 37, there is now the possibility that Thursday night may well have been Coleman’s final appearance for his nation as he responded to the question after their defeat.

“No, right now – after the disappointment -I would never think of myself that quickly after the nation got so disappointed,” he said.
“That’s something that will come later down the line, but I am just disappointed for the lads and disappointed for all the fans.
“Yeah, that’s not something in my thoughts at this moment in time.”
