Newcastle United stadium chief Brad Miller has sat down with supporters at the latest Fan Advisory Board meeting and provided an briefing on the long-awaited decision-making process.

More than a year on from a pledged stadium update, Newcastle fans are still unsure on whether the plan is to remain at St James' Park or whether a new stadium, believed to be on the preferred site of nearby Leazes Park, will be on the cards. United CEO David Hopkinson has previously briefed journalists that the club's short to mid-term plan is to remain at St James'.

As Chronicle Live reported earlier this season, Newcastle will pump in £1million to improve facilities inside St James', including new screens so that every vantage point in the ground can see a replay. Hopkinson told fans that the club have not made their mind up on what they do next when speaking to supporters at the STACK on December 1.

When asked for an update, Miller spoke with fans and the club released the following statement via their meeting minutes: "Brad Miller updated the group on the ongoing evaluation of stadium redevelopment versus new-build options, including land and planning considerations, infrastructure investment, and the phased development of the training centre.

"He also outlined the continued investment in infrastructure across all club sites."

Hopkinson had told Chronicle Live at the end of 2025: "One of the things we are reviewing right now is that we’re going to be here, in something like the current format, for years.

"I think that there are some things we’ve maybe not done because we’ve been waiting for the bigger decision. I think we’re going to think about the phasing of this next phase of our lives, and recognise that there are things we need to do now with regard to the stadium issue.

"Maybe we can incorporate that in a future renovation? Maybe we pick it up and move it with us to a new park? But recognising that we are going to be at St James’ Park in pretty much its current format for years to come is important. We’re thinking through what improvements should we make in that intervening period? We could make tweaks and changes to improve the here and now."

For now, Newcastle are counting down the days to Euro 2028, and no major move is expected either side of the tournament.
