Report: What Everton think David Moyes will do as The Friedkin Group now prepare new contract

Everton have decided to offer David Moyes a new contract.

The Guardian now claim that The Friedkin Group have chosen to keep the Glaswegian at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after a strong 2025/26 campaign, in which the 62-year-old has guided Everton to within just three points of fifth place at the time of writing.

An interesting detail adds that The Friedkin Group only saw the Scot as a short-term hire initially after taking over in December 2024.

As the Guardian revealed plans for Everton to keep David Moyes around, they also shared how those inside the Hill Dickinson Stadium expect him to respond.

Surely everyone is Moyes in now? 🤔

Everton are confident David Moyes will sign a new deal

There is time for the Everton boss to think about his decision, with his current terms not expiring until July 2027.

However, the Guardian write that Everton insiders are confident Moyes will pen a new contract.

Talks over a deal are not planned to start until the season ends, with The Friedkin Group keen to not distract Everton in the fight for European football.

The Guardian add that a new contract for Moyes – who could have £100m to spend this summer – is likely to include a greater say in recruitment for the former Manchester United boss, a privilege he previously had during his first stint under Bill Kenwright.

Furthermore, the story also states that The Friedkin Group recognise Moyes works best with more experienced players, rather than young talents like the struggling Tyler Dibling – who has made just four Premier League starts following his £40m move from Southampton back in August.
