Nottingham Forest transfer has tempted Mathias Olivera
Nottingham Forest transfer has tempted Mathias Olivera
Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Napoli’s Mathías Olivera in the summer, a source has told Sport Witness.
The Premier League side wanted to bring him to the City Ground in the winter market but weren’t successful.
Back in January, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of Nottingham Forest efforts to sign the left-back.
Sean Dyche was then in charge, and the Reds weren’t able to find an agreement with the Serie A side. On February 15th, Vítor Pereira took over from Dyche and has managed nine matches so far.
Nottingham Forest not giving up
The managerial changes will have no impact on the English club’s interest in Mathías Olivera.
A source has told Sport Witness that Nottingham Forest continue their chase and are ‘still trying’ to sign the Uruguay international in the summer.
The 28-year-old is open to making a switch to the City Ground. However, this will depend on the club staying in the Premier League and if not, he won’t consider joining them after this season.
That is crucial, the Premier League is a big part of the attraction and relegation to the Championship will end the possibility.
Last weekend, Vítor Pereira’s side secured a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. This result helped them climb above the north London club, to 16th spot. They are two points ahead of 17th placed Spurs and three ahead of 18th placed West Ham United.
Sport Witness aren’t aware of the fee needed to convince Napoli to sanction the South American’s sale.
