Leeds United could have been in a far different situation if they decided to make one major decision in November. Late last year, things were not going well for the club at all.

Leeds could not get a win from anywhere, and the team were just poor. Coming off the back of a losing run, the pressure mounted on the players and Daniel Farke. Faced with an impossible schedule, most news outlets reported that the German coach would be sacked.

But in the face of adversity, Farke improved and made the Leeds United team better. Switching tactics in the middle of the season saw the team go on a long unbeaten run. This has set them up to be in competition to avoid relegation in the last few games of the season. Fans will be pleased that the 49ers made the right choice to stick with Farke during that period.

Tottenham set to hire new coach

Tottenham had a promising start to the season under Thomas Frank, with many tipping them to go on to perform well during the season. But after a run of poor results, the London club pulled the plug when Spurs fell close to the bottom three. Igor Tudor came in as caretaker, but failed to make the situation better; the Croatian was sacked after seven league games.

According to The Telegraph, Sean Dyche is seriously being considered to take charge of Tottenham till the end of the season. Dyche was previously in charge at Nottingham Forest where he was sacked after 25 games. The 54-year old was heavily linked with the Leeds job back in the summer of 2023, when the club were relegated, but the move never happened and the club decided on Daniel Farke.

Leeds United have an advantage in this relegation battle

The Whites have the advantage among the four teams trying to avoid the final spot in the relegation zone. They do not have European distractions like Nottingham Forest who are still in the Conference League, and Spurs will now have to adapt to their new coach which could take time. West Ham look like a real threat with the results they have been picking up, but recent injuries could slow them down. Despite all this, Leeds United have their future in their own hands – getting just two points from their last four games could ultimately see them go down. This means Daniel Farke and his men need maximum points from now till the end of the season.
