Everton star Iliman Ndiaye is set to miss Senegal’s upcoming friendlies with a foot injury.

The winger, whose last act for Everton was his stunning goal in the 3-0 win over Chelsea last weekend, had been called up for the matches with Peru and Gambia, scheduled to take place on Saturday and Tuesday, respectively.

But the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has now confirmed Ndiaye has now been ruled out of both games due to an injury the organisation said was suffered at the Blues

The FSF said in a statement: “The FSF informs the public that the player Iliman Ndiaye is declared unavailable for the next two friendly matches, Senegal vs Peru and Senegal vs Gambia.

“The player has discomfort in his left foot, following an injury sustained at club level.”

Any concern around the fitness of Ndiaye will be taken seriously at Finch Farm.

The 26-year-old is a key part of David Moyes’ squad this season and has been central to the attacking unit that has helped move Everton to the cusp of Europe.

He has also taken on increased importance since Jack Grealish suffered a long-term foot injury in January.

Ndiaye capped a stunning evening at Hill Dickinson Stadium last weekend by curling into the top corner of Robert Sanchez’s goal to seal an impressive victory over Chelsea.

His sixth goal of the season, the Senegalese is the club’s joint-top scorer with Beto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Thierno Barry.
