Liverpool will be spending big again this summer with two wingers at the top of the shopping list.
Liverpool won’t want to leave it as late to replace Mohamed Salah as it did to sign Alexander Isak last summer.
With only Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha, the Reds are already short in numbers in terms of natural width and, having struggled against a low block all season, need the sort of players who can unlock stubborn opposition defences. Ball carriers, dribblers, players with fast feet and those who can beat a man in a one v one situation.
Liverpool turn to plan B winger move
What Liverpool are finding though, is that enquiries for their top targets are falling on deaf ears. Bayern Munich don’t want to sell Michael Olise, Paris Saint Germain want to extend Bradley Barcola’s contract and Yan Diomande is wanted by half of Europe despite the teenager having an £87m transfer valuation.
Richard Hughes needs a plan B, a player who he knows won’t break the bank but who will immediately provide another option and strength in depth. Having had his transfer fee cut from around £75m to the £55m mark, a controversial move for Iliman Ndiaye at Everton could be on the cards.
Liverpool considering Ndiaye move

“Manchester United are also firmly in the picture, with sources confirming they view Ndiaye as a strong candidate to fill their need for a ‘versatile forward’ as they reshape their attacking options and look for a replacement for Dutch star Joshua Zirkzee, who is set to leave Old Trafford this summer.”
It might be controversial, but it would also make a lot of sense.
