Celtic’s search for a new goalkeeper will sharply intensify in the summer.
One of the men previously linked to Celtic has been Leeds United’s shot-stopper, Illan Meslier, who is in a very tricky situation at Elland Road.
The 26-year-old, who was Leeds’ number one last season as they earned promotion to the Premier League, is now third-choice under Daniel Farke.
When you add in the fact that Kasper Schmeichel is facing a career-ending shoulder injury – sidelining him for up to a year – the Hoops are urgently assessing their long-term options between the posts.
Viljami Sinisalo will want to have a say because he is currently holding the gloves, producing strong performances, and he will feel that Celtic simply don’t need to search the market in the summer for a new keeper.
You have £10m to spend on a new goalkeeper to replace Kasper Schmeichel…

Should Celtic sign Illan Meslier as his Leeds United career fades into darkness?
Meslier has been the subject of transfer links to Celtic, especially with his current Leeds contract expiring this summer.
However, his standing at Elland Road has plummeted. He has barely had a sniff of first-team action under Farke, slipping behind Lucas Perri and Karl Darlow.

This dramatic fall from grace raises a valid question: Is it a bigger risk going for Meslier when the transfer window re-opens?
Some critics will inevitably ask, if he isn’t deemed good enough to play in the Premier League for Leeds, why should Celtic take him?
Despite the reservations, Meslier’s pedigree and impending free-agent status make him an interesting option and certainly one to watch out for.
Meslier’s career games: 231
Clean sheets: 79
Goals conceded: 301
