Lewis Miley has not featured for Newcastle United since the 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in January.
Lewis Miley is reportedly back in full training and could return for Newcastle United against Crystal Palace.
The 19-year-old has not featured since the 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in January. A suspected dead leg was initially thought to sideline Miley - an integral cog at St James' Park despite his age - for a fortnight.
When repeatedly asked at press conferences, Eddie Howe would delay the midfielder’s return date. The Toon boss later disclosed that Miley had suffered “muscle damage” and would be ruled out until after the international break.

Lewis Miley eyeing return date
Newcastle have been keen to avoid rushing Miley back to risk hindering his development. He has already suffered several injury niggles - including a lengthy back problem - in his fledgling career.
A three-week hiatus in Toon action will allow Miley to make a full recovery ahead of the Premier League resumption on April 12. The Daily Mail report that he is back in full training following a two-month break.
Howe’s troops travel to Palace aiming to banish last weekend’s Tyne-Wear derby nightmare. With the mood around Tyneside at an all-time low, Newcastle are hopeful of launching a run in the final seven games to secure European qualification.
Lewis Miley contract update
It is also understood that Newcastle are aiming to tie Miley down on an improved contract. At present, his current deal runs until 2029 but he falls significantly behind the top earners in terms of wages.
Miley has not only proven his quality, but also a new-found versatility this season. Howe deployed the Stanley native as a right-back over the winter period during Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento’s absence.
Newcastle were stung in July 2024 when they reluctantly sold Elliot Anderson - now a seasoned England international - to Nottingham Forest. Toon chiefs do not want to risk the same fate with Miley - also billed as a potential Three Lions star.
