Moretto: Füllkrug set for West Ham return as Milan are ‘looking for another striker’

**Niclas Füllkrug arrived as an emergency solution at AC Milan in January, following speedy negotiations with West Ham, but the striker should return to the English side this summer.**

It was in the days leading up to the January window that Milan [**reached an agreement with West Ham**](https://sempremilan.com/official-ac-milan-sign-fullkrug), securing Füllkrug on a six-month loan with an option to buy. The speedy negotiations allowed him to join the squad immediately when the window opened, which was a plus.

However, several games and just one goal later, it’s becoming clear that the German isn’t the striker that Milan need for next season. Seeing as a return to the Champions League is looking very likely, if anything they need to improve their squad even more.

Farewell on the cards

---------------------

Speaking about the situation on [Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel](https://youtu.be/5Lm7jawizYM?si=gsy8OVNjbcoITdPB), Matteo Moretto said that there is virtually no chance of Milan renewing the striker in the summer. Instead, he will return to West Ham, where you would imagine he won’t stay for long either.

“There is a very small chance of seeing Füllkrug with the Milan shirt for another season. The buy-out option is set at €5m, so it’s not an expensive one, but the Rossoneri are already looking for another striker, a physical one, who can fill the role that Füllkrug has. So he would return to West Ham,” he stated.
