Leeds have a dozen players on senior international duty and two of them saw their nations faced each other on Friday as Switzerland hosted Germany in a seven-goal thriller friendly at St Jakob-Park in Basel.

Summer signing Anton Stach’s brilliant form this season has led to a Germany recall and fellow summer signing Noah Okafor’s efforts have also led to him being back in the Switzerland squad.

Switzerland boss Murat Yakin, though, took the decision to keep Okafor on the bench, the Leeds man one of just three outfield players amongst the 15 substitutes not to get any minutes.

Stach’s side were drawing 3-3 at the time of his introduction but a second goal of the game from Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz in the 85th minute sealed a 4-3 victory for his side.
