Thiago Alcantara (C) celebrates his goal with Stephen Wright and Steven Gerrard in Liverpool Legends' 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund
Liverpool Legends drew 2-2 with their Borussia Dortmund counterparts.
The Reds dominated the first half and led 2-0 at the break thanks to a fine finish from an absolute rocket from Jay Spearing.
But Dortmund fought back after the break and second-half strikes from Mo Zidan and Jan Koller ensured honours ended even on an afternoon when returned to for the charity match between his former clubs.
And here is how we 'rated' the Legends...
Jerzey Dudek
Replaced after just over 20 minutes, but never had anything to do.
Stephen Wright
Played the opening 15 minutes before being replaced.
Martin Skrtel
Endured one scare toward the end of the first half, but apart from that was never put under pressure by the Dortmund backline.
Sami Hypia
Just like the old times, he positioned himself at the heart of the Reds’ backline. But he was troubled by Koller.
Ragnar Klavan
He might have been a centre-back during his playing days, but here he found himself operating much further forward and, at one point, was even in the centre-forward position, seeing an effort saved.
Fabio Aurelio
A constant option down the left and linked up well with Thiago.
Thiago Alcantara
Outstanding performance. He’s still got it. Best player on the pitch and should have scored more than the one he did. His display was worth the admission fee alone.
Igor Biscan
Felt the wrap of Steven Gerrard after just two minutes and was guilty of giving the ball away on a number of occasions.
Jay Spearing
Scored a stunning goal to put his side 2-0 ahead. It was a moment of pure brilliance from the midfielder, and it left those inside Anfield in awe.
Steven Gerrard
Felt the love of supporters before and during the game, but he could have had a hat-trick in the first-half. Linked up well with Thiago and showed moments of brilliance.
Ryan Babel
A real livewire up top and was a constant threat. Another who probably should have scored though.
SUBS
Sander Westerveld
Just like Dudek, he had very little to do.
Pepe Reina
Sliced clearance just minutes after coming on and was at least called into action, unlike Dudek and Westerveld.
Natasha Dowie
Linked up well with Thiago to create an opening and gave the Dortmund backline plenty to think about.
Louise Schillgard
Came on at the break, and she almost immediately linked up with Gerrard, but the midfielder instead played the ball to Albert Riera rather than giving it back to her.
Albert Riera
Wasted a good chance to make it 3-0 - but did make a great tackle to deny Koller.
Mark Gonzalez
Another who came on at the break and just fancied playing up front.
Peter Crouch
On just before the hour mark. He’s still a crowd favourite, receiving a huge reception as he made his way onto the pitch and went close with a header.
Jermaine Pennant
It was his poor touch that presented Dortmund with the perfect opening to make it 2-1. He was then booked for a wild challenge on Lee Young-pyo that almost caused a kick off.
Martin Kelly
Called up after just 15 minutes and played right-back before moving to centre-back in the second-half.
Dirk Kuyt
Hasn’t lost his competitive streak and even found himself at right-back at one point.
Gregory Vignal
Introduced midway through the first-half for Hypia.
Florent Sinama Pongolle
Almost picked out Crouch with a pin-point corner, but struggled to get on the ball.
Vladimir Smicer
On for the final 10 minutes.
