Huge boost for Leeds United midfielder with call made as star impresses in victory

A Leeds United midfielder has received a huge boost.

Leeds United star Ao Tanaka has received a big double boost upon impressing for Japan on international duty.

Japanese ace Tanaka has been limited to making just seven Premier League starts so far this season and his only three Whites starts so far this year have come in the FA Cup.

Tanaka, though, received a huge boost for Saturday evening’s international friendly against Scotland at Hampden Park as boss Hajime Moriyasu made the call to start him.

Tanaka did not disappoint, the 27-year-old impressing throughout and hitting the woodwork as his side recorded a 1-0 success.

The Whites star was eventually substituted with the score goalless with 12 minutes left but teammate Junya Ito struck what proved the winning goal six minutes later.

Another friendly against England is next for Tanaka’s men on Tuesday night in a 7.45pm kick-off at Wembley.
