One Crystal Palace star has been in good form for his national team.

A Crystal Palace star has been in good form for his country, finding the net on Saturday night in what turned out to be a comfortable win.

It has been a chaotic time for Senegal, who won the African Cup of Nations only to be stripped of the title weeks later due to the players walking off the pitch during the final.

Despite being stripped of the title, Senegal have maintained that they won the competition fairly, and they even paraded the trophy around the pitch before a friendly with Peru on Saturday.

What will happen with that trophy remains to be seen, but one would assume it will be awarded to Morocco at some point.

For now, Senegal still say they are champions, and they celebrated with a friendly win over Peru on Saturday. During the game, Nicolas Jackson and Crystal Palace striker Ismaila Sarr scored, and the latter also won Man of the Match, according to SportsDunia.

Sarr was awarded a 7.5 for his performance, outperforming the rest of his international teammates. The fixture was in preparation for the summer World Cup, which will see Senegal go up against France, Norway and a team that is yet to be determined in the group stage.

Sarr has an impressive 15 goals for Crystal Palace so far this season, and he will be hoping to go into the World Cup in good form. Palace have had a resurgence of late having had a torrid winter, and they are now just four points from the middle of the table with a game in hand, though that game in hand is against Manchester City.

Sarr will be key to the Eagles’ hopes of finishing in the top half this season.
