Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been sent home early from the England squad by Thomas Tuchel and is set for an early return to Leeds United.
The striker realised his dream of getting the call-up after several years away from the Three Lions, clearly impressing Tuchel to be included in his 35-man squad for the international break.
England drew 1-1 with Uruguay at Wembley Stadium on Friday, and the Whites star got a chance to impress off the bench, but has now been sent home early along with eight other players.
He missed a close-range header to almost grab a goal in the match, and that might be the moment he’ll now look back on with heartache.
Calvert-Lewin wanted to reach North America with England, but the decision doesn’t bode well for his chances now.

Calvert-Lewin’s miss for England was slightly reminiscent of his recent form at Elland Road, despite now being in the double figures for goals this season.
He’s been in a rough patch of form recently, and the lack of goals may have harmed his chances of impressing Tuchel.
