The international break arrived at an opportune moment for Arne Slot, who has much to address before Liverpool's season resumes. The Reds travel to Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals next weekend before the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final away to Paris Saint-Germain.
While the European form has been impressive, the Reds' domestic displays have been a source of worry amid a disappointing title defence. Five points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, the Reds may need to rely on the Premier League securing an additional spot to qualify for the Champions League, unless they win this season's competition.
As well as filling the gap left by Mohamed Salah's looming departure, it's evident the squad needs an overhaul ahead of next season and transfer preparations will already be in progress. Here's a round-up of the latest Liverpool news...

Red in battle for Suarez
The Reds and Newcastle have intensified their interest in Luis Suarez - not that one - according to reports in Portugal. The Sporting CP striker has had the season of his life since joining from Almeria last summer.
The Colombian, 28, has netted 33 goals and provided seven assists in 42 matches to establish himself as one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe. Portuguese publication Correio da Manha claims Liverpool and Newcastle are showing 'intense interest' in Suarez, who is tied to the Lisbon outfit until 2030 and possesses a release clause of approximately £70million.

There is reportedly a widespread belief within the club that it is simply a question of when, not if, Suarez follows the man he succeeded, Viktor Gyokeres, to the Premier League.
While the Reds might be hesitant to invest £70m in the player approaching his 30s, there are indications Sporting may entertain an offer nearer to £50m. That said, if Arsenal's protracted pursuit of Gyokeres is any indication, expect Sporting to played hardball.
PSG's firm answer
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is being linked with a switch to Anfield once more. The Georgian is enjoying another outstanding campaign for PSG and will be aiming to eliminate Slot's team from the Champions League next month.
With Salah heading out, Kvaratskhelia could be the successor to his crown, while Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the 25-year-old.

The Independent recently reported that Kvaratskhelia's representatives are open to a transfer. However, PSG won't permit one of their main men to depart without a fight.
According to TeamTalk, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have approached the winger's representatives, only to be informed by the European champions that Kvaratskhelia is content in Paris and not eyeing a new club.
