The Premier League table doesn’t currently make completely comfortable reading for Leeds United – but it will by the end of the season.
That’s according to statisticians Opta who have backed the Whites to finish well-clear of relegation, with Wolves, Burnley and West Ham the three clubs tipped to go down.
As things stand Daniel Farke’s men stand 15th, three places and four points above the drop zone. That’s one ahead of Nottingham Forest and three ahead of Tottenham after the Reds beat Spurs in their relegation showdown.
Opta think Leeds will end the season there too, with an estimated 41.94 points which would be five clear of the Hammers on 36.94. Tottenham are predicted to end up on 38.48 and Forest on 40.95.

All of which gives the Whites just a 6.44 per cent chance of being relegated – suggesting with more than a 93% chance of beating the drop they’re basically nailed on to stay up. Forest’s survival hopes are 91%, Spurs' 74% but the Hammers’ only 42%.
At the other end of the table Opta calculate Arsenal will win the league by ten points, ahead of fellow Champions League qualifers Manchester City, Man United, Aston Villa and Liverpool.
Leeds resume their Premier League campaign on April 13 when they travel to Old Trafford. They also have Wolves, Burnley and Brighton at home and away games at Bournemouth, Tottenham and West Ham.

That creates the intriguing possibility that United could both knock the Hammers out of the FA Cup on Easter Sunday and relegate them on the final day of the season.
