Liverpool are ready to bid around £70m to sign Nottingham Forest star Murillo alongside any potential Mohamed Salah replacement this summer, according to TEAMtalk.
The Reds are expecting a busy summer transfer window after a record-breaking summer last year returned disappointing results, with the team battling to qualify for the Champions League next season as they currently sit in fifth-place, just one point above Chelsea.
But while lots of attention will be put towards who they bring in to replace their legendary Egyptian forward, the club also have plans to strengthen their defence amid question marks over the future of Ibrahima Konate and the age of Virgil Van Dijk.
Liverpool Readying Big Murillo Bid

Murillo, who has been described as a 'monster', has been one of the standout performers for Nottingham Forest since their return to the Premier League, with the Brazilian excelling in central defence.
Liverpool know that Konate is out of contract this summer, with no sign of a new deal being agreed yet, while Van DIjk will be turning 35 before the new season begins, and entering the final year of his contract at Anfield too.
That has seen the club step up their plans to bring in a new defender, alongside the deal they have already completed for young Frenchman Jeremy Jacquet, and the 23-year-old has emerged as a top target.
Liverpool are prepared to table a 'substantial bid' to bring Murillo to the club this summer, with a fee of around £70m being mooted as the magic number to get a deal done.
Forest are holding out for a club-record fee to let him leave, although that number could be exceeded in the same window by Elliot Anderson's expected exit, and Murillo is understood to be open to leaving the City Ground in order to play in the Champions League.
Murillo Would Be Perfect Liverpool Signing

While Salah's replacement may be a priority, it's clear that reinforcements in defence are needed, and while Jacquet is highly-rated, there is nothing like someone who comes in with a limited need to adapt to the Premier League.
Murillo already knows the league, and has all the attributes needed to make the team stronger, especially if Konate is to move on.
GIVEMESPORT asked ChatGPT if Murillo would be a good replacement for Konate, and this was its response:
Strong, progressive left-footed CB; excellent ball progression suits Liverpool FC build-up
Physically dominant, good in duels and clearances
Less aerially dominant than Ibrahima Konaté
High ceiling, already attracting elite interest
Overall: good stylistic fit, but not a like-for-like replacement (more technical, less dominant physically)
