Mohamed Salah is reportedly considering a return to Serie A side Roma after announcing his exit from Liverpool this summer. Earlier this week, the Egypt international announced that he will be leaving Anfield at the end of the current season.
Mohamed Salah joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017, after spending three seasons in Serie A. In the first two years, he was on loan from Chelsea, spending one season each with Fiorentina and Roma, before joining the latter on a permanent deal in 2016. Since signing for the Reds in 2017, Salah has had an exceptional legacy at the club, leading them to nine titles, including a Champions League and two Premier League accolades.
According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Mohamed Salah is considering a return to Roma this summer after leaving Liverpool. The Egyptian is expected to leave for free despite his current contract with the Reds being valid until 2027, as they've reportedly decided to let him leave per his wish.
However, Roma could reportedly face trouble incorporating Mohamed Salah due to his massive salary. The superstar forward earns a reported €12 million per season at Liverpool. Meanwhile, Roma has set a cap of €4 million. The move could be possible if Salah adjusts in terms of his wages. The report also mentions a possibility of him spending a season at Roma before deciding where to go next.
Meanwhile, Saudi Pro League sides are also reportedly eyeing Mohamed Salah's situation, with Al-Ittihad and Al Qadsiah being among those interested in securing his services. The future remains open, and more clarity is expected towards the end of the season.

"Hello, everyone. Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the fairest part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of this season. "I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, this people, would become part of my life. It's not just a football club. It's a passion, it's a history, it's a spirit I can't explain in a word to anyone not part of this club," Salah said.
He continued:
"We celebrated victory, we won the most important trophies, and we fought together through the hardest time in our life. I want to thank everyone who was part of this club throughout my time here, especially the teammates past and present, and to the fans. I don't have enough words the support he showed me through the best time of my career, and you stood by me."
